Notes:

Tiger Lily, Lilium columbianum

Family: Liliaceae - LILY FAMILY
Genus: Lilium is Greek for lily
Species: columbianum means 'of the west'
aka Columbia or Columbian Lily. No flower droops as elegantly as this one! The high arch concludes the reach of the stem at a height as much as 6' - 7' (200 cm) - see the trail view. The flowers are intense: six deep orange tepals which curve dramaticlly upward (recurved), red and purple spots, and dangling anthers and the pistel. Usually found in open woods to 5,000' elevation. The featured flower is outside the park and above this range, however the other views are at 4,600' and 5,100' respectively.
