Notes:

Rocky Mountain Senecio, Senecio streptanthifolius

Family: Asteraceae - SUNFLOWER FAMILY, ASTER FAMILY (Compositae)
Genus: Senecio from senex, 'an old man', for lack of hair near flower heads
Species: streptanthifolius from Greek streptas 'twisted' and anthos 'flower'
aka Packera streptanthifolia, Rocky Mountain Butterweed. There is a good possibility that this is a misidentification. Bieks' flora states that no geographical location is known, yet this location is along a heavily used trial. The stem leaves are very distinctive; narrow, unstalked and lobed. The lower basal leaves (not clearly shown here) should be roundish, stalked and may form a rosette. When found likely to be on rocky slopes in middle to high elevations. (ref. Biek)
