Lance-leaf Stonecrop, Sedum rupicola

Family: Crassulaceae - STONECROP FAMILY
Genus: Sedum comes from Latin 'to sit' referring to squatty thick nature
Species: rupicola means 'found growing on rocks or cliffs'
aka Sedum lanceolatum. The small lance-shaped leaves are very fleshy and are more like little cigars, only 1/8" - 1/4" (3 - 7 mm) long. They alternate on the stems, which are 2" 4" tall, and at the base in rosettes. The yellow flowers are in parts of 5s, e.g. petals, stamens, etc. Usually found on talus slopes and rocky ridges between 6,000' to 7,500' elevation. (ref. Biek, Pojar)
